The world is increasingly grappling with the multifaceted consequences of climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) confirmed in 2023 that our planet has warmed by 1.1 degrees Celsius and is projected to exceed the 1.5 degrees Celsius threshold by 2030. This will lead to an increase in extreme weather events, with far-reaching economic, social, and environmental impacts. Therefore, addressing climate change is a critical and urgent issue that requires global cooperation. Developing the ability to adapt to climate change will become increasingly challenging as its effects become more severe.

Recognizing the consequences, TVO has acknowledged the importance of conducting business with social responsibly and reducing the impacts of climate change. This involves the application of technology and innovation in business operations, aligning with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices to deliver sustainable value throughout the value chain and reflect a vision of entering into the food business and sustains its leadership in the vegetable oil and animal feed ingredients business.

In the past year, TVO was invited by The Stock Exchange of Thailand to participate in a Climate Change Management Role Model 2023 project. This initiative aims to prepare and elevate organizational greenhouse gas management practices in line with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) standards. As a result, TVO has established a clear strategy and approach for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and set a short-term target of reducing GHG emissions by 20% by 2035, focusing on increasing the proportion of renewable energy used in production. Currently, approximately 85% of the company's energy comes from renewable sources. This is another important step for TVO towards achieving its goal of carbon neutrality by 2045 and net zero emissions by 2060.

TVO is committed to conducting business with good governance principles at its core and a foundation in sustainable development. This commitment drives us to achieve excellent performance across all aspects of the economy, society, and the environment. It underscores our determination to simultaneously enhance organizational strength and growth, care for society and communities, and provide appropriate returns to shareholders. By considering all stakeholders, we strive for sustained and resilient growth.
