2019 is the year we had encountered challenges in many aspects, among the surrounding factors such as the US-China trade war with direct impact towards the prices of soybean and soybean meal in the world market, African Swine Fever (ASF) outbreak in the neighboring countries, as well as the intense price competition in the vegetable oil market. As a result, the Company prepared ourself for the situation changes by improving and maximizing the production procedures and internal operation process along with the social and environmental responsible management.
The Company is committed to conduct the business with the good governance on the basis of sustainability by integrating the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to our operation in order to bring along good operational results in every aspect: economy, society and environment. In 2019, TVO is qualified as a member of Thailand’s Private Sector Collective Action Coalition against Corruption and is also rated “Excellent” in the Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies (CGR). We had enforced many important policies such as corporate governance policy, tax policy, the supplier code of conduct, human rights policy and information disclosure policy; and reviewed and updated Code of Conduct and Anti-Corruptions Manual.
In the past year, the Company still aimed to take care of the neighboring society and communities, participating in and supporting the well-being of youths and community members via many projects, in example, medical equipment donations and outpatient department renovations for hospitals, school lunch and nutrition projects, support educational equity for underprivileged child and traditional Thai culture to create sustainable and harmonious society.
Regarding the environment-related operation, the Company places importance on resource and energy usage in the most efficient and effective ways under the policy of environment, the policy of quality, occupational health, safety and working environment, together with the policy of energy conservation. This achievement comes from everyone in the organization, suggesting and improving the work process in many fields to meet the goal of conservation and greenhouse gas reduction for our next generations to access the quality of nature resources.
