Senior Piping designer
Job Description
Key Responsibilities :
1. Prepare general arrangement (GA) and isometric drawings of piping systems, civil & structural, architecture, As-built drawaing according to project and international standards.
2. Prepare Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) including the mark-up and modification.
3. Design and model piping systems using 2D and 3D tools including AutoCAD (2D & 3D), PDMS/AVEVA, AutoPLANT, and Plant 3D.
4. Design piping supports, including evaluation of support loads and structural attachment points.
5. Generate piping bill of materials (BOM) and material take-offs (MTOs) based on project scope.
6. Apply in-depth knowledge of piping standards, materials, and specifications such as ASME, ANSI, API, DN and client-specific general specifications.
7. Perform design drafting of related fabrication & installation components like vessel, tank, skid & modular design.
8. Ensure compliance with all applicable engineering codes, safety standards, and company procedures.
9. Support cross-functional collaboration with discipline engineer including process, project, mechanical, civil, and E&I engineers. Participate in design reviews and interdisciplinary coordination activities.
Qualification
Qualification :
1. Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related field.
2. 7–10+ years of experience in piping design, preferably in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power, or industrial facilities.
3. Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D, Plant 3D, PDMS/AVEVA, AutoPLANT, and Navisworks.
4. Experience with P&ID and PFD interpretation and integration into design deliverables.
5. Solid understanding of piping systems, supports, and fabrication practices.
6. Familiarity with pressure vessel, sheet metal, and steel structural design.
7. Strong knowledge of relevant international piping codes and standards.
8. Experience in Project management, budgetary and resource planning.
